Attach to the ceiling by drilling a hole
For DIY enthusiasts with a garage full of tools, the following method will be surprisingly easy. You’ll simply need a drill, a wall plug, a hook, and a small tarp!
- To begin, protect your bed by putting a tarp over it.
- Mark precisely on the ceiling the spot where your hole will be
- Check what type of ceiling it is (concrete = solid / placo = hollow)
- Choose the correct mode on your drill to avoid damaging your ceiling
- Drill the small hole where you made the mark
- Insert a dowel into the hole
- Give it a few light taps with a hammer to make sure it’s completely in place.
- You can then screw a hook into the ankle
- Then hang your bed canopy on the hook in the ceiling

Most baby crib canopies are held in place by a canopy frame attached directly to the crib. However, some require attachment to the ceiling or wall. If yours attaches to the ceiling, move up a bit and use one of the two methods
- provided (drilling or no drilling). Otherwise, read on!
- Take a board approximately 1 meter long
- Cover it with cotton fleece using a wall stapler
- Place the organdy fabric over the fleece.
- Screw two brackets onto the board with a spacing of approximately 90 cm.
- Screw the board to the wall above your baby’s crib or bed.
- Then place the canopy fabric of your bed between the brackets.

Bed rails are often made of metal or plastic, so here we’re going to try something new and make one out of wood. For this little DIY project, you’ll need screws, a drill, a screwdriver, a square, some small wooden planks, and of course, two wooden battens: one short, about 30 cm, and one long, about 1.5 m. - Screw the two battens together using the bracket as a link.
