Have you bought, or are you planning to buy, a crib canopy for your baby, but you’re unsure how to hang it? It’s not complicated at all; you’ll see it’s child’s play! Take your time reading the instructions below to ensure your child sleeps peacefully by minimizing noise and visual disturbances. Please note that reading these instructions will take less than 2 minutes and assembly will take approximately 15 minutes.
The different solutions
To hang a baby bed canopy, there are three solutions. Each has its advantages, depending on your needs and the type of canopy you’re installing. The first is a no-drill installation , the second is a drilling installation , and the last is an installation using a bed pole!
No-drill mounting
Let’s start with the simplest solution. This involves attaching something to the ceiling above your baby’s bed or crib so you can hang their canopy directly from it. Here are the options: adhesive hooks , double-sided tape , or modeling clay .
Fixing by drilling
For this solution, you will need a few tools: a tarp , a pencil , a drill , a wall plug , and a hook . Once you have gathered everything, start by placing the tarp on the bed or the floor. A small tarp will work perfectly. Next, mark the ceiling where you will hang the canopy. Adjust the drill setting according to the type of ceiling you have (concrete or drywall). Then, carefully drill at the marked spot. Screw the wall plug into the hole. Finally, tighten the hook into the wall plug. You can then hang your baby’s canopy on this same hook.
Fixing with a bedpost
We recommend using this last method if you wish to attach the canopy to a crib. First, attach the canopy frame to the crib bars. Use the clamp and knob system that usually comes with the frame. The frame must be at a height of more than 1.20 m. Then, slide the canopy onto the frame or attach it to the end of the frame.
